Sinners & Saints: The Blues, The Church & Creative Survival
A Three-Session Discussion Series / July 31, August 14, and August 28
Join us for a provocative summer series inspired by the film Sinners. Through selected scenes, music, and open conversation, we’ll explore what it means to be a creative soul in a world—and sometimes a church—that doesn’t always know what to do with us.
Together, we’ll dive into the deep waters of lament and blues spirituality, reflect on the draining forces that threaten authentic community, wrestle with the ways institutions have extracted the lifeblood from artists, and reimagine sacred space as something raw, communal, and alive. This series will be a soulful cinematic exploration for the disenchanted, the faithful, and those somewhere in between.
